Clayton Engineering

THE CHALLENGE

Clayton Engineering needed to reconfigure an existing Durascreen installation to better support their evolving manufacturing operations. Their goal was to create a more efficient production area for vehicle assembly while improving the segregation of different processes within the facility.

The challenge was to maximise available space without disrupting ongoing operations, while also adapting the layout to accommodate new infrastructure, including a gantry crane. This required a flexible solution that could integrate with existing systems, maintain safe working zones, and support a more streamlined and organised manufacturing environment.

THE SOLUTION

A combination of two of our systems was proposed to effectively meet their operational requirements. Durascreen® was specified in PX1000 with a translucent finish, maintaining consistency with the existing installation while complementing the overall industrial aesthetic of the facility. In addition, our Durasteel Single Skin Steel Partitioning was incorporated to provide a more robust and durable structural solution where required.

Features included to meet specific need:

  • Dust tight V-overlap joining system to contain dust.
  • Double-skin insulated pedestrian door without vision panel, complete with push pad exit and integrated within a steel mullion frame for secure and durable access.
  • Low-speed doors were installed to facilitate efficient movement of personnel and equipment while supporting environmental separation between areas.

CLIENT TESTIMONIAL

Overall, we are very satisfied with the final product delivered by DBC. The outcome matches exactly what we requested, and it is clear that our requirements were well understood and executed.

The two doors are functioning perfectly, and everything operates as expected. The entire team is happy with the result, and the finished product has proven to be both effective and reliable.

We are pleased with both the process and the outcome, and the final result meets our expectations.
