Richfords Fire & Flood
THE CHALLENGE
Richfords Fire and Flood required a controlled environmental solution to help manage the storage and restoration of fire- and flood-damaged contents within their facility. With sensitive items such as artwork and furniture being processed and stored in large wooden crates, maintaining stable temperature and humidity levels was essential to prevent damp-related damage and support effective drying, particularly during the winter months.
A key challenge was achieving this level of environmental control while minimising heating costs and overall energy consumption.
THE SOLUTION
The solution was achieved through the installation of a fast-action door system incorporating a vertical Air-Flex ambient air blower system, designed to provide effective environmental separation between the internal storage areas and the external environment.
Mounted externally within the existing door reveal, the system was supplied and installed complete with all necessary steelwork and framing, ensuring a secure and fully integrated fit within the building opening.
When in operation, the integrated air blowers create an air barrier between the internal and external environments, significantly reducing heat loss whenever the speed door is opened. This allows lorries to reverse directly to the opening for loading and unloading without compromising internal temperature or humidity levels. As a result, a stable environment can be maintained while reducing reliance on continuous heating and helping to keep energy costs under control.
Operation is activated via internal push-button controls and Condor motion and presence sensors, ensuring smooth, responsive performance within a busy working environment.
