THE CHALLENGE

Exeon was tasked with installing an odour extraction and treatment system at their client’s food waste processing plant, where managing dust and odours was a key operational challenge. To make the system as efficient and cost-effective as possible, they needed to contain a specific section of the odorous process rather than extract air from the entire facility. This meant creating a defined, enclosed area that would allow for more targeted extraction, helping to improve overall system performance while maintaining a controlled working environment.

THE SOLUTION

We recommended our Durascreen^® product in grey PX1000 material.

Features included to meet specific need:

The partitioning system is comprised of a series of prefabricated panels, enabling efficient installation and a consistent finish throughout.
Panels were connected using a dust-tight Vee join system, helping to contain dust and odours, and maintain a controlled environment.
UPVC strip curtain doorways were installed for forklift truck access, allowing smooth movement while maintaining separation between areas.
Pedestrian doors were incorporated for pedestrian access, ensuring safe and convenient personnel flow.
A bespoke mullion frame with UPVC inserts was designed and installed, carefully cut around protruding sorting machinery to maintain a sealed and functional layout.
Steel mullion posts were added to provide a clean, neat finish at corners and junctions.
A floor-mounted purlin was installed to raise the bottom section of the Durascreen panels, preventing contact with floor sludge and helping to protect and preserve the fabric over time.
All necessary supporting steelwork was included at the top of the partitions, along with steel corner posts for added strength and stability.
