THE CHALLENGE

Llanelec needed to address a health and safety concern identified during an audit at their manufacturing facility. With multiple welding operations taking place in one area of the factory, the lack of effective segregation and fume extraction meant welding fumes were spreading into surrounding production areas. They required a solution to contain the fumes within the welding area and prevent them from affecting the rest of the manufacturing facility.

THE SOLUTION

Our Durascreen^® Flexible Partitioning System in blue PX1000 fabric was recommended to effectively segregate the welding area, helping to contain welding fumes and support the efficiency of the new extraction system, whilst providing a clean, professional finish that enhances the overall appearance of the facility.

Features included to meet specific needs:

• Our unique V-join system incorporated to provide a tight seal between partition sections, helping to prevent welding fumes from escaping into surrounding areas.
• Foam infills between the partition and roof beam to provide a tighter seal at high level.
• Company logo incorporated into the Durascreen® partitioning to provide a professional, branded finish.
• UPVC access door incorporated into the partitioning to provide convenient personnel access whilst maintaining effective segregation of the welding area.
• Durascreen® partitioning installed from floor to roof level, featuring a detachable horizontal join that allows the upper section to be detached and rolled up over the gantry crane in an emergency.
