THE CHALLENGE

As part of their relocation, Orapi Applied was moving all production, warehousing, and distribution operations into a brand-new facility – essentially an empty shell at the outset. The challenge was to design and build the internal layout entirely from scratch to suit specific operational needs while maintaining flexibility for future growth.

With plans for expansion driven by their parent company, the business needed a fit-out solution that would meet immediate production and storage requirements yet remain adaptable enough to reconfigure as operations evolved. A key priority was ensuring the layout worked efficiently from day one, while allowing for future modifications without major disruption.

THE SOLUTION

Two of our systems were recommended to help meet their requirements. Our Durascreen^® product was specified in our PX1000 material – a combination of flexible and durable materials used to achieve a clean, efficient, and reconfigurable workspace. Our Durasteel Single Skin Steel Partitioning was also recommended for use in the flammable area, maintenance section, and laboratory to ensure safety compliance and a clean, professional finish.

Features included to meet specific needs:

• Durascreen panels were installed to maximise natural light and create the feel of a dust-free, controlled environment.
• The overall layout was designed as a permanent yet reconfigurable solution, allowing walls and partitions to be moved or adjusted without leaving any lasting marks on the building.
• A dual-colour Durascreen was requested for aesthetic purposes, with a blue base and white up to the ceiling.
• Dust tight V-overlap joining system to contain dust.
• Framed door openings were provided for the client to install their own rapid doors.
• Pedestrian doors were included to allow easy movement of personnel through the walling.
• A self-supporting suspended ceiling was installed over offices and inspection rooms.
